The Catoctin Furnace Historical Society Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the history and heritage of the Catoctin Iron Furnace, which operated from 1776 to 1903 in Thurmont, Maryland. The society was founded in 1973 and is located in the historic village of Catoctin Furnace.

The society operates a museum that houses artifacts, photographs, and documents that tell the story of the furnace and the people who worked and lived there. The museum is open to the public on weekends from April to November and by appointment in the off-season.

In addition to the museum, the society offers educational programs, tours of the furnace ruins, and special events throughout the year. The society also maintains the historic Catoctin Iron Furnace Stack, which is the only surviving structure of the furnace complex.

The society is run by a board of directors and relies on donations and grants to fund its programs and activities. Its mission is to promote an appreciation of local history and to inspire future generations to preserve and protect the cultural heritage of the Catoctin region.
