Walks on Ballenger Creek Trail (Frederick, Maryland) - February 15th & 16th, 2024 Stayed in Frederick the night before our cruise. I enjoyed walking on the Ballenger Creek Trail right near the TownePlace Suites Frederick in Frederick, Maryland. The hotel is located at 5050 Westview Drive, Frederick, Maryland USA, 21703. Saw some eastern grey squirrels, deer, white throated sparrow, downy woodpeckers and cardinals. Heading to Baltimore to take the Royal Caribbean Vision of the Seas for an eight night cruise from Baltimore, Maryland to the Southeastern United States and the Bahamas (February 16th, 2024 to February 24th, 2024). The cruise embarks from Baltimore, Maryland with stops in Charleston, South Carolina; Port Canaveral, Florida; Freeport, Grand Bahama Island, Bahamas, and Nassau, Bahamas, before returning back to Baltimore.

The Blacksmith Guild of Western Maryland Inc is a non-profit organization established in Boonsboro, Maryland, MD in 1985. The guild is dedicated to preserving and promoting the ancient art of blacksmithing. It is a community of blacksmiths, metalworkers, and artisans who come together to share their knowledge and skills.

The guild offers a range of workshops, classes, and demonstrations to educate and inspire the public about the craft of blacksmithing. Members of the guild also participate in local and regional events, fairs, and festivals to showcase their work and promote the art of blacksmithing.

Spanning Fishing Creek Utica Covered Bridge, Frederick County, MD "The Utica Mills Covered Bridge, circa 1850, is located on Utica Road off of Old Frederick Road. The bridge originally spanned the nearby Monocacy River but was washed away during a severe storm in 1889. Local citizens gathered the remains and reconstructed the 101-foot long Burr Arch design bridge at its present location crossing Fishing Creek." West Virginia Power vs. Hagerstown Suns (Minor League Baseball - July 27, 2015) Attended the Class A South Atlantic League game on Monday July 27, 2015 between the West Virginia Power (Pittsburgh Pirates) and the hometown Hagerstown Suns (Washington Nationals). We had great seats for this minor league baseball game….pretty amazing in fact. We were sitting RIGHT behind home plate in the first row...great spot for pictures, especially when there was a left handed batter. A great evening at the ballpark - except for the home team. West Virginia won 4-2.

Islands In The Fog The fog was particularly thick this weekend, but the strong sun gradually ate into it. Believe it or not there’s a a whole mountain hidden by that cloud. I took this photo from the footbridge attached to the rail bridge that goes across the river. What you’re looking at is the remains of the support pillars for the previous bridge. I spent more time than usual processing this image. I was going for an almost painterly look which I think I mostly got.

iota.jpg Doro loves to smell things, and she is especially interested in scents left on the telephone/power poles on the block (where we walk her every day). This series of photos shows Doro at every pole on the block. This is the ninth pole on our tour. Doro usually doesn't like this pole much as it is heavily coated with preservative. On this day, she seems to have found something interesting to linger over.
