Surratt House and Visitors Center is a historic site located in Clinton, Maryland. The site was built in 1852 and served as a tavern and post office before becoming a private residence. It is most famous for its connection to the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln in 1865. The house was owned by Mary Surratt, who was accused of conspiring with John Wilkes Booth to assassinate the President. She was eventually convicted and executed, becoming the first woman to be hanged by the United States government.

Today, the Surratt House and Visitors Center serves as a museum and education center, showcasing the history of the site and the events surrounding Lincoln's assassination. Visitors can tour the house and see the rooms where the conspirators gathered and the attic where Booth and his accomplices plotted their escape. The center also features exhibits on the Civil War and the assassination, as well as educational programs and events.

In addition to the historic site, the Surratt House and Visitors Center also offers a gift shop and research library. The center is open to the public year-round, and admission is free. It provides visitors with a unique opportunity to learn about one of the most significant events in American history and the people who were involved.
