Holiday Glow This is sort of the opposite of the last photo being taken from the opposite shore of this pond. The large troll, Roskva, is visible between the lighted trees.
Roskva Thomas Dambo, a Danish artist and recycle activist. He led a team of community and worldwide volunteers to help create our five trolls. Roskva is the heaviest, hardest, and strongest of the trolls. Every day, Roskva climbs towards the sky, and every year she grows taller and wider. If a troll forgets something, they can always ask Roskva—she counts the seasons and remembers everything that happens around her. Giant trolls were a rare subrace of trolls that resulted from the crossbreeding of trolls and hill giants.
Hummingbird This was taken last evening at the Coastal Maine Botanical Garden in Boothbay, Maine. It is their annual holiday Gardens Aglow extravaganza.

Engine Number Nine This past Saturday I spent about five hours or so riding this restored train. I like this photo because of the dark smoke and white steam as the engine is being readied to be coupled to the caboose, box car, and flat car that comprise the train. Also there is some nice fall color. The gentleman in the red and black shirt is installing what were once white flags one on either side of the engine. About 15 riders, mostly train buffs, were on this train. The building is the water tower used to fill the tanks of the locomotives. The Wiscasset, Waterville and Farmington Railway is a 2 ft (610 mm) narrow gauge railway. The line was operated as a for-profit company from 1895 until 1933 between the Maine towns of Wiscasset, Albion, and Winslow, but was abandoned in 1936. Today, about three miles (4.8 km) of the track in the town of Alna has been rebuilt and is operated by the non-profit Wiscasset, Waterville and Farmington Railway Museum as a heritage railroad offering passenger excursion trains and hauling occasional cargo. Engine 9 was built by the Portland Company in Portland Maine as works number 622 completed on May 2, 1891and is a 0-4-4T Forney locomotive now owned and operated by the Wiscasset Waterville, and Farmingtone Railway, Alna, Maine. It was abandoned in about 1936 and has since been restored and is operational. [Wikipedia]
