The Maine Jewish Museum (MJM) in Portland, ME is a small but vibrant museum dedicated to the exploration and celebration of Maine’s vibrant Jewish heritage. Founded in 2002 by local Jewish historian, Jack Lefkowitz, MJM serves as a living memorial to the Jewish immigrants who brought their rich culture and traditions to Maine.

The museum offers a variety of exhibits and educational programs throughout the year, including lectures, films, and special events. The permanent collection features a variety of artifacts ranging from 19th century documents to contemporary art. The Maine Jewish Museum is located in downtown Portland in the historic Jewish Community Center building. The museum is open to the public year-round, and admission is free.
