The Louisiana Historical Association (LHA) is a non-profit organization headquartered in Lafayette, Louisiana. Founded in 1889, it is one of the oldest historical organizations in the United States. The males are more likely to roam about hunting than web hunt. mother alligator on log with baby on back Easter 2024, went for a hike around Lake Martin and saw a lot of alligators. This is the mother alligator on the log with the babies from the other two shots adjacent in the photostream. There's one baby on her back in this shot.

Okay, so this was a seasonal lake, but they built the levee in 1952 to make it a year round lake. Baby alligators on log with mom There was one on mama's back. You can zoom for more detail on this one. I didn't know the mums looked after them after they hatched.

Easter 2024. We hiked around Lake Martin. It was mostly cloudy, with the sun out occasionally briefly. There were a lot of alligators, and I'll be slowly uploading decent shots of critters including more alligators.

There were a lot of alligators at the lake, we walked around it today on Easter. The rookery is not accessible though, the raised wood trail to view the rookery is badly damaged.

Common Crane Fly or Mosquito Eater (Genus Tipula) Common insect this time of year. They don't eat mosquitoes. I don't know the precise species.
