The University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UALR) is a public research institution located in the capital city of Little Rock, Arkansas. The university was founded in 1927 as Little Rock Junior College, and it became a four-year university in 1969. UALR offers over 100 undergraduate and graduate programs in business, engineering, education, law, public health, social work and the liberal arts.

The university's main campus is situated in midtown Little Rock, and its satellite campuses are located in several cities throughout the state. UALR has an enrollment of over 11,000 students, and the student-faculty ratio is 14:1. UALR also has a number of research centers and institutes, including the Center for Arkansas History and Culture, the Institute for Economic Advancement and the Institute for Sustainable Communities.
