20230131-RD-VHM-0434 U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development (RD) Under Secretary Xochitl Torres Small meets with and announces $7 million in Water and Waste Disposal Loan and Grant funding in Rayville, LA on Jan 31, 2023. 
The meeting was attended by Town of Rayville Mayor Harry Lewis, former Congressman Rodney Alexander, Northeast Louisiana Regional Director Angie Robert, and representatives from the offices of State Representative Francis Thompson, U.S. Congresswoman Letlow, U.S. Senator Kennedy, and the Governor's Office. 
The Town of Rayville will use a $5 million Water and Waste Disposal Loan and a $2 million Water and Waste Disposal Grant to construct a new well due to aging water wells. This investment will also help the Town of Rayville upgrade the elevated water storage tank, replace distribution lines, and add radio read meters. This Rural Development funding will impact more than 3,695 people in Richland Parish.
