Wonder It was cool to see my first Carolina Wren on a long hike at an Arkansas State Park. Little did I know that a few days later in Louisiana a couple of Carolina's would adopt me. They decided to hang out under, around and inside the camper for a few hours. This guy was ready to hop inside.
Boom or Bust Byway: Germantown Colony Museum Germantown Colony Museum was transferred from the Webster Parish Police Jury to the state of Louisiana in 2008. A new museum center was recentlhy completed to compliment the three original buildings. The Colony was established in 1835 seven miles northeast of Minden, La. It is the third and most successful site of the Harmonist Society of the early 19th century. The colony operated on a communal basis and lasted 37 years before dispersing in 1871.
