Gallier House is a historic home in the French Quarter of New Orleans, Louisiana. Built in 1857 by renowned architect James Gallier Sr., it is one of the most important examples of Greek Revival architecture in the United States. The house was built for merchant and prominent local politician James Gallier Jr. and his family, and it remained in their possession until it was sold to the City of New Orleans in 1966.

Gallier House is a two-story townhouse structure with a raised basement, built in the Greek Revival style. The exterior of the house is composed of white stucco and features a large entrance portico and two-story Ionic columns. The interior is decorated with a mix of Greek and Italianate furniture and features a central staircase and two grand parlors.

The house is now a museum that offers visitors the opportunity to explore the history and architecture of the building and the Gallier family. Visitors can also view the Gallier Family Room, which features some of the family’s original furniture and artifacts. In addition, the house hosts exhibits, lectures, and special events, such as jazz concerts, art exhibitions, and educational programs.

Gallier House is an important part of the cultural and architectural history of New Orleans and is a must-see for anyone visiting the city. The house continues to serve as a reminder of the city’s past and the influence of the Gallier family on the history and culture of the city.
