The Martin Luther King Jr. Planning Committee of Bowling Green, Kentucky was established in 1988 to honor the legacy of Dr. King by continuing his work of social activism and civil rights advocacy in the local community. The world notices the first redbud days of spring Redbuds are among the first signs of spring in Kentucky. As I enjoyed the aesthetics of this spot on a beautiful day in early spring, the analytical marketing and business side of my brain kicked in when I saw a prominent globe on a university campus. That is probably why I stopped to ponder this sculpture in the first place.
