The Boone County Historical Society in Florence, Kentucky, is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the history of Boone County and its surrounding areas. Established in 1960, the mission of the Society is to collect, preserve, interpret, and promote the history of the county and its people. The Society maintains an extensive collection of material on the history of Boone County, including documents, photographs, artifacts, and other materials related to the county’s past.
The Society also operates a museum and research library, located in the historic Boone County Courthouse in Florence. The museum features a variety of permanent and rotating exhibitions about the history of the area, as well as a gift shop.
