The Arkansas Historic Preservation Foundation (AHPF) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that was founded in 1977. Its mission is to promote the preservation of Arkansas’s historic and cultural resources. AHPF is based in Little Rock, Arkansas, and is dedicated to restoring, preserving, and interpreting the state's historic and cultural heritage.

AHPF works with local, state, and federal partners to protect historic properties and to preserve the state's unique heritage. The Foundation administers the Arkansas Historic Preservation Program, which is part of the National Park Service’s National Register of Historic Places. The Program identifies, evaluates, and protects historic properties in Arkansas.

AHPF also works with local, state, and federal agencies to promote public awareness of the state’s historic resources and help communities and individuals with their preservation efforts. The organization provides technical assistance and grants to support preservation and rehabilitation projects. AHPF offers educational programs, workshops, and conferences to help communities learn more about the importance of preserving their local heritage.

The Foundation works with the Arkansas Historic Preservation Alliance, a network of local and state preservation organizations, to coordinate preservation efforts across the state. AHPF also supports the efforts of the Arkansas Archeological Survey, which conducts research, surveys, and excavations to study the state’s archaeological sites.

The AHPF supports the preservation and interpretation of Arkansas’s historic and cultural resources, and works to ensure that future generations can appreciate and benefit from the state’s rich heritage.
