The Green County Genealogical Society Inc. (GCGS) is a non-profit, volunteer-led organization located in Greensburg, Kentucky. Founded in 1972, the Society is dedicated to the collection, preservation and dissemination of family, local and regional genealogical, historical and cultural information. The Society offers a wide range of services, including research assistance, access to resources, educational programs, and special events.

GCGS is open to the public and welcomes genealogists, historians, and other researchers of all levels, from beginners to experienced professionals. Memberships are available, with fees based on household size and varying levels of access to the society’s resources. The society has a library and research center, where members can access a variety of resources, including books, maps, microfilm and more.

GCGS also offers a variety of educational and special events, including a monthly genealogy meeting, workshops, seminars, and an annual genealogy conference. Great blue heron with catch Tailwater at USACE Green River Lake I have the heron at the moment of catch but that image is just one big splash with the caught fish still underwater. This is the proud moment of triumph where the heron struts his stuff. ;-)
Green County, KY Court Clerk's Office From Wikipedia: <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Green_County_Court_Clerk's_Office" rel="noreferrer nofollow">en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Green_County_Court_Clerk%27s_Office</a> The Court Clerk's Office-County & Circuit, on East Court St. in Greensburg, KY, was built in 1818. [Note: the sign to the right of the door says 1804.] It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987. It is Federal in style, and was built of dry stone construction, the best building method available during Kentucky's settlement period. The building served as the clerk's office until 1842. After 1877 it was the home of "Aunt Eunice", a former slave. The building was later bought and repaired by the City of Greensburg.
