Farmington Historic Home is a historic house museum located in Louisville, Kentucky. It was originally built in 1816 by John and Lucy Speed and is one of the oldest surviving homes in Louisville. The home was originally constructed in a Federal style but was modified over the years to reflect the changing tastes of the Speed family. The home was purchased by the Speed family in 1858 and was owned until the death of their youngest daughter in 1961. The home was then purchased by the city of Louisville and has since been restored to its original grandeur.

The home is furnished in its original period pieces, and visitors can explore the home and its grounds while learning more about Louisville’s history. The home’s first floor consists of four main rooms: the entrance hall, formal parlor, dining room, and kitchen. The second floor contains four bedrooms and a nursery, as well as a bathroom and a balcony. The grounds of the home include a garden, gazebo, and carriage house.

Farmington Historic Home is a popular destination for visitors interested in exploring Louisville’s history. The home is open to the public and offers guided tours, special events, and educational programs throughout the year. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is a designated Louisville Landmark.
