The Shawnee Indian Mission, located in Fairway, Kansas, is a historic site and museum that preserves and interprets the history of the Shawnee Indians. The mission was established in 1839 by Reverend Thomas Johnson and his wife, Eliza. It served as a school, church and mission to the Shawnee people living in the area.

The mission is made up of a main house, an office and several other buildings. The main house is a two-story white clapboard building with a steeply pitched roof, and it is the oldest structure on the site. The office was built in the 1850s and was used as the mission’s business office. Other structures include the schoolhouse, a barn and an icehouse.

The Shawnee Indian Mission is a National Historic Landmark and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is now operated by the Kansas Historical Society, and it offers educational programs and tours that allow visitors to learn more about the history of the Shawnee people. The site also includes a museum and a gift shop.
