The Amana Colonies Historical Sites Foundation (ACHF) is a non-profit organization based in Amana, Iowa. The organization was founded in 1977 to preserve, protect and promote the historical sites of the Amana Colonies. The Amana Colonies were founded in 1855 by German immigrants of the Church of the Community of True Inspiration, who had previously lived in New York and Pennsylvania.

The Foundation’s mission is to promote and sustain the history, culture and architecture of the Amana Colonies and to ensure their legacy is passed on to future generations. The Foundation seeks to accomplish its mission through a variety of activities, including the preservation and conservation of historical sites, the acquisition of artifacts, educational and cultural programs, and advocacy for the Amana Colonies and its people.

The Foundation is responsible for the restoration and preservation of numerous historical sites in Amana, including the Amana Church, the Amana School, the Amana Woolen Mill, the Amana Meat Shop, the Amana Bakery, the Amana General Store, the Amana Blacksmith Shop, and the Amana Synod House. The Foundation also operates the Amana Heritage Museum, which offers a variety of exhibits, programs and events related to the history of the Amana Colonies.

The Foundation is funded by private donations, grants and fundraisers. It also operates several gift shops, which sell items related to the Amana Colonies and their history. The Foundation is governed by a board of trustees and staffed by a volunteer staff. It is an active member of the Iowa State Historical Society and the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
