The Zoar Historical Association Inc. is located in Newton, Iowa. Founded in 1988, the Zoar Historical Association is dedicated to preserving, interpreting and promoting the rich history of the area. The association is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with a mission to educate and inspire the public about the history of Newton and the surrounding region and to preserve the Zoar Historic District.

The Zoar Historic District is a 20-acre area that includes the 1847 Zoar Church and its associated cemetery, the 1875 Zoar School, and the 1902 Zoar Hall. The Zoar Historical Association offers guided tours of the Zoar Historic District and the surrounding area, as well as hosting regular lectures, educational programs, and special events. The association also provides research assistance to individuals and organizations seeking information related to the history of the area.

The Zoar Historical Association also operates a museum in the Zoar Hall, which houses a collection of over 10,000 artifacts related to the history of the area. The museum showcases many artifacts from the early settler days, including photographs, documents, and artifacts from the early settlers.
