MASONIC TEMPLE

The Masonic Temple in Dubuque, IA is a historic building located on the corner of 8th and Locust Streets in downtown Dubuque. Built in 1890, it was originally constructed as a place for the Masonic fraternity to meet and hold ceremonies.

The building is a four-story structure with a brick and stone exterior. The main entrance features a grand staircase leading up to large double doors, adorned with Masonic symbols. The interior of the building features a grand ballroom with ornate decorations and high ceilings, as well as several meeting rooms for Masonic lodges and other organizations.

Over the years, the Masonic Temple has also served as a social center for the community, hosting events such as dances, concerts, and weddings.

Today, the building is still used by the Masonic fraternity, as well as other community organizations. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is considered a significant example of late 19th-century architecture in Dubuque.
