The Gardendale Historical Society Inc. is a non-profit organization founded in 1985 to promote the preservation of Gardendale’s history. The Society is dedicated to researching and collecting artifacts, documents, photographs and stories of Gardendale’s past.

The Society’s museum offers exhibits that highlight Gardendale’s rich history, from its early days as a farming community to its modern-day role as a bedroom community of Birmingham. Among the many artifacts on display are photographs, documents, and artifacts from Gardendale’s early days. The museum also features a replica of a one-room schoolhouse and a replica of the first church in Gardendale.

The Society’s library holds an extensive collection of books and other materials related to Gardendale’s history. Visitors can find books about local history, genealogy, and more.

The Society also holds educational programs for the community, such as speakers and workshops. The Society also organizes field trips and other activities for members and visitors.

The Gardendale Historical Society Inc. is committed to preserving Gardendale’s history and educating its residents. The Society’s mission is to collect, preserve, and interpret the history of the Gardendale area. Through their programs, exhibits, and library, they strive to share Gardendale’s unique story with a wide audience.
