The English Valley History Center is a museum located in North English, Iowa, that showcases the history and culture of the English Valley region. The museum was established in 1977 and is run by volunteers. The center is located in a historic building that was originally used as a schoolhouse in the early 1900s.

Make It Home Tonight I can only imagine what these guys were feeling on the morning of the last day of the UP donation train. Probably a decent bit of stress to get it done that day, a little relief that it was the last day, and a good helping of exhaustion, is my bet, anyways. Although scheduled to leave South Amana earlier than it did, UP 5716 East did eventually get its greenlight. I was parked up near the shops where the train had rested over the latter half of the night and there were maybe half a dozen or so others around there. I thought, hey, great, not too many people today, right? Then when the train started to move and I got moving with it, I came up to Yocum Connection, the wye, and found it was packed with a plethora of railfans. Not quite as small of a chasing group as I'd initially thought, but more in line with what I'd expected at any rate. I initially opted to head on farther down to a spot in Homestead I wanted to try, but with the donation train moving so slow... hey, why not join in for a simple wedge? I had to get that in somewhere, after all. Busy, busy day ahead... but a nice start to the day, to be sure.
