The Frank Lloyd Wright Stockman House in Mason City, Iowa, is a two-story Prairie-style home designed by the famous American architect and designer. Built in 1912, the house was commissioned by Dr. George Stockman, a prominent local physician, and his wife, Alice. The house is characterized by its unique blend of organic and geometric forms, which were typical of Wright’s Prairie-style designs. The house features a low-pitched, hipped roof and an open-plan interior with an emphasis on natural light and natural materials. The exterior of the house is clad in red brick, with limestone trim around the windows and doors. Inside, the house features a living room, dining room, kitchen, and four bedrooms. The living room is notable for its large fireplace and built-in furniture. The house also features a detached garage and a fully enclosed garden. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983 and is now owned by the City of Mason City. It has been carefully preserved and restored to its original appearance, and is open to the public for tours.
