The Franklin County Historical Society Inc. in Brookville, Indiana, was founded in 1967. The purpose of the society is to preserve the history and heritage of the area. To that end, the society collects, preserves and interprets documents, artifacts and photographs relating to the history of Franklin County and the surrounding area. The society also sponsors educational programs about local history.

The society is located in a two-story, brick building on Franklin Street in downtown Brookville. It houses a museum, library and research room. The museum is filled with artifacts, photographs and documents related to Franklin County history. It also contains an extensive collection of Native American artifacts from the area. The library contains books, microfilm and other materials related to local history. The research room is available for use by members and visitors.

The society also sponsors educational programs throughout the year. Programs include lectures, field trips, living history demonstrations, and special events. The society also participates in local community events.

The Franklin County Historical Society Inc. is open to the public and is supported by members, donations and grants. Membership is open to anyone interested in learning more about the history of Franklin County and the surrounding area.
