The Cass County Historic Preservation Foundation Inc. (CCHPF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of the history and heritage of Cass County, Indiana. Founded in 1987, the CCHPF is dedicated to the protection, preservation, and promotion of the county’s historic sites, buildings, and landscapes.
The CCHPF also plays an important role in education, providing resources and programs to students and the public that offer a deeper understanding of the area’s history. They have developed a book entitled “Exploring Cass County” that provides an overview of the county’s history, as well as a walking tour of the county’s historic sites. Additionally, the CCHPF organizes many special events throughout the year, including lectures, ghost walks, and historical presentations.
The CCHPF also works closely with local government to ensure the preservation of Cass County’s historical resources. This includes providing assistance to local governments in the development of preservation ordinances, as well as advocating for the protection of the county’s historic properties.
In addition to its preservation efforts, the CCHPF also provides programs and services that foster the appreciation of the county’s historical resources. Through its museum, library, and research center, visitors can explore the county’s rich history. The CCHPF also hosts a variety of special events, such as art shows, music festivals, and historical reenactments.
The mission of the Cass County Historic Preservation Foundation is to promote and protect the historic resources of Cass County, Indiana, fostering a greater appreciation of the area’s rich cultural heritage.
