Geronimo Monument Incorporated in Portal, Arizona is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving the legacy of the Apache leader Geronimo. Founded in 2006, Geronimo Monument Incorporated works to educate the public about the Apache culture and the life of Geronimo himself. The organization’s mission is to recognize and honor the brave and courageous leader of the Apache people, and to serve as a reminder to all of the need for strength, courage, and perseverance.

The main attraction at the Monument is the life-size bronze sculpture of Geronimo which stands in the center of the Monument’s grounds. The sculpture stands atop a large boulder, with two large rocks on either side. The Monument also includes a Visitor Center which houses a variety of artifacts related to Geronimo’s life, as well as educational materials about the Apache culture.

The Monument is open year-round for visitors to tour, and offers a variety of events throughout the year. The Monument also provides service projects and educational programs for local schools and community organizations. Geronimo Monument Incorporated also hosts an annual festival in October to honor the life of Geronimo. The festival includes cultural dances, traditional Apache food, and a ceremonial blessing.
