The Levi Coffin House State Historic Site is a two-story brick house located in Fountain City, Indiana, that served as a station on the Underground Railroad during the mid-19th century. Levi Coffin, a Quaker abolitionist, and his wife Catharine purchased the house in 1839 and used it as a safe haven for fugitive slaves seeking refuge from the South. The house is often referred to as the "Grand Central Station" of the Underground Railroad, as it is estimated that the Coffins helped around 2,000 slaves escape to freedom.

The house is now preserved as a historic site and museum, offering visitors a glimpse into the life of the Coffin family and their role in the Underground Railroad. The house includes exhibits on the history of slavery and the Underground Railroad, as well as artifacts and documents related to the Coffin family's activities. Visitors can also tour the house and see the secret hiding places where fugitive slaves were hidden.

In addition to the house itself, the site includes a visitors' center, a gift shop, and several other historic buildings, such as a barn and a carriage house. The site is open to the public year-round and hosts a variety of educational programs and events related to the history of the Underground Railroad and the fight for freedom.
