River Otter, Muskatatuck NWR After a day of looking for an otter family, this was the best I could get.

This shy river otter liked staying in far away bushes and just wouldn’t get into the open that day. There was a fishing hole in the ice that was hidden by a tree. He'd emerge from the hole with a fish and have the time of his life eating the fish in these twigs or the back of a log. I have photos of him with his fish but this image was the most unobstructed one.
